Fire in a field
Today Lars Vestermark (purple shirt) lost more than half of the crops of a barley field. Neither he nor the fire men could figure out exactly how the fire was ignited.
The harvesting had just begun when the fire broke out under one tractor. Initially they thought a hot brake was accountable, but when checked it was cold. I could be two stones that hit each other under the wheel throwing a spark at the dry crops. Another theory that was mentioned more than once was about a cigarette butt getting stuck on the wheel and carried into the field. Because the fire started right when entering.
Despite the big loss of crops Lars Vestermark wasn’t totally knock outed.
- Do you think this is the worst thing that could ever happen? he said.
